Fall is the time of the year when the best sports video games are released. My brother purchased Madden NFL 24 along with NBA 2K24 and that means that I also had access to those games thanks to PS5's ability to gameshare with one other console. As I mentioned in my NBA 2K post earlier this week, I haven't really been into playing sports games for many years now. I grew up, playing them nonstop and loved him tremendously, as well as playing sports in real life and watching them on tv. However, things have just changed, and I usually end up playing a different type of game besides sports.

It seems as though this year may be different. I recently played my first online multiplayer match of Madden NFL 24 and had an absolute blast with it. I selected my Miami Dolphins and played against the Los Angeles Chargers, which actually happened to be the IRL Week 1 matchup for the Dolphins. It had been quite some time since I spent much effort maintaining my skills in Madden. I've been playing it since Madden 98, but have skipped most of the recent ones. Thankfully it all came back to me and I wasn't straight trash at the game.

This match was an absolute battle in the lead changed several times throughout the game. I thought I was in big trouble whenever I let the guy take the lead on me with only 17 seconds left in the game. Boy was all wrong now. My QB Tua Tagovailoa came in clutch with 17 seconds left and the ball on my own 26-yard line. I had one, maybe two shots to throw a touchdown pass, as I was down 4 points and a FG wouldn't do me any good. To my surprise, I threw the perfect bomb downfield to my dude Jaylen Waddle. I ran it all the way for a touchdown and managed to get the win in my very first multiplayer match.

If I had not won the game, I'm pretty sure I would still want to continue playing Madden because it's actually a lot of fun. The fact that I did win it though, made me really want to play more of it because I realized, hey I'm not too bad at this game and the Dolphins are such a cool team.

I didn't record this entire game, because I didn't have much faith that I would play well. I did begin a recording midway through the 3rd quarter. There was numerous TDs from then until the end. You absolutely have to see my final play though. I have no clue how I pulled that off. If you want to skip to that part, I thre the 74yd TD with 17 seconds left in the 4th quarter.
