If you're in the early stages of your empire, you basically have a shattered, glass-filled, dump of a restaurant that clients will actively avoid. You don't have the luxury to do anything but clean glass, morning-til-night.⁣

Yes it's annoying. Yes it's hard work. Yes, you'd prefer someone else to do it. But if you're serious about getting your business off the ground... the glass needs to be cleaned, and you've no budget to hire a janitor. It's on you.⁣

I used to wait for people to come to my shop and see us.

J and I had a kink business where we sold sexy shirts that he designed. He took care of the content and I took care of getting eyeballs and attention.

But I spent more time making memes, blog posts, shirt descriptions and I spent almost no time getting eyes on my shop.

I was inconsistent and not doing the work it takes to make sales.

You can have a business but without sales, it's just a hobby.

We closed the shop last September - for now - and I learned a hard lesson after that. Without consistent eyeballs I can't make money. And if I can't make money then I don't have a business.
 
I figured out that I had to just get busy "cleaning the glass" to get the diners into my "restaurant".

It's not difficult. But it does require consistency.

If you're serious about running your business then you gotta get your hands dirty and do it. Be consistent. Share your amazing product. Shake hands and introduce people to what you're doing, every single day.
