Hive Power Up - Made Orca Status
Today being the first of April 2024. Also hive power up day. I will be powering up 1000 hive hive as I have been doing for a few months now. This puts me up to an orca level, So Now I will have the big red fish next to my account. I must admit it feels good to make it to another milestone.
This blockchain is my main crypto platform and I have my biggest bags held in hive. Most of it I have earned through use of the platform. Doing social things like blogging, commenting and playing games. Goes to show that over time the coins will add up, If I can do it so can you.
SSH Backdoor Found in SSH CVE-2024-3094
This is what I have found out. The search results describe a serious backdoor vulnerability discovered in versions 5.6.0 and 5.6.1 of the XZ Utils compression utility,. which is used across Linux distributions. The backdoor was introduced through malicious code committed by one of the XZ Utils developers.
It allowed attackers to bypass the authentication process of the OpenSSH server, potentially enabling them to gain unauthorized remote access.
To allow them to execute commands on the affected systems. The backdoor was designed to be difficult to detect, as it injected the malicious code during the build process rather than being present in the source code repositories.
Solution
To Fix the risk of this SSH backdoor. users are advised to immediately check if their Linux systems are using the vulnerable versions of XZ Utils (5.6.0 and 5.6.1) and, if so, to downgrade to an earlier, uncompromised version.
Major Linux distributions like Red Hat, Fedora, and Debian have already taken steps to address the issue by reverting to older, secure versions of XZ Utils.
Hive Witness Server
All my Linux Servers are safe. Including my Hive witness and as allways I am very vigilent on any potential issues that might crop up. I take running a witness node seriously. I don't rent servers, I use bare metal with local hosting in a secure location here in Adelaide.
I Value And Appreciate Every Single Vote
