A Weekend of Mostly Sports

Hello friends and Hivers. I hope all is well with you. Today I tell you a bit of my happenings Friday thru Sunday. Most of it is involved around two basketball games my son played in.
Friday
It was a slow day at work not really anything really mentioning. I got a little bored checking out vehicles so I decided to take some pictures out of an aircraft loader while it was raised up. There wasn't anything too cool to capture so I share these two photos.
Friday night my son had a basketball game and it was Senior night. This year's team has four seniors. I walked with him to the middle of the court before the game started where he got a nice introduction. He was greeted by the athletic directors, coaches and players. He received a bag of goodies, a miniature hoop, and a signed Mini basketball from the team.

I was much invested in the game/activities and it really slipped my mind to take pictures. I've found doing so you miss out on some of the action. Anyways mostly everyone in attendance were wearing the above pictured senior shirts. It was a nice view of white in the home crowd bleachers. Also the players were all wearing them as thier warm up shirts.
Unfortunately they lost a close game. My son played very hard and still put up 22 points in the defeat. After the game we met up with some of his teammates at a pizza joint.
Saturday
The next day my son had an afternoon game at 1:30. This was the last regular season home game. The talk among the home crowd was when my son was going to score his 1000 career point. He needed 11 points to meet the achievement.
He had 8 points with 3 minutes left in the first quarter. He took a shot which looked like a 3 pointer but his toe was on the line so it only counted as two. On the next possession he posted up and scored underneath the hoop reaching the achievement.
At half time the announcer mentioned this achievement and the team presented him a cool banner to pose with the team. I wasn't able to capture the photograph because of the angle. So this photo (first photo above) was taken by the Athletic Director of the school. He ended up with 24 points for the game (had 19 in first half) and his team won big. The second photo I took after the game where many other people took pictures as well. A very proud moment for me as a father and it's one heck of achievement that not many players reach.
After the game we went home and he had some friends come over. A busy night with teenage boys playing video games and being loud. I got to bed rather late.
Sunday
I woke up around 6:00 a.m. and after having some coffee and a simple breakfast I cut up some fruit & vegetables for later in the day for the NFL Super Bowl game. After I had lunch I decided to go do some delivery driving.
I was still a bit tired if you can't tell from the picture. I only drove for a little over two hours. I did pretty well making just over $80 and only driving 38 miles. Part of the earnings ($25) was a promotion to complete 10 deliveries. I found out after completing the promotion there were 3 more promotions for $25 each to complete by the end of the day. Oh well even if I knew in advance I didn't have the time to complete them this weekend.
After finishing up driving I went to pick up some food I ordered. I decided to get the main food for the Super Bowl from a restaurant called Buffalo Wild Wings. I ordered 20 boneless wings, 20 bone in wings, fries, and pretzel bites. The wings weren't great but they weren't bad either. Everything else was spot on though. I went heavy on the fruits and vegetables just didn't feel like stuffing myself full.
Shortly after finishing eating it was game time. It was an American football contest between the San Francisco 49ers and Kansas City Chiefs playing to earn the right to be named the Champions. I wasn't going for either team to win, just a spectator 😊 A pretty entertaining game which actually went into overtime. It got close to 9:30 p.m. and I'll admit I doze off a bit in spurts. I did see San Francisco's first possession in overtime. I fell asleep during most of Kansas City's possession but woke up for the game ending winning touchdown. Kansas City with the victory has now won back to back championships.
My son's basketball season is coming to a close. His last regular season game is tomorrow on the road. His team has a record of 14-6 and finished 3rd in thier respective conference. Any day now the playoff schedules will be released.I'm not sure if they will have another home game.
Well this is all I have for you today. It was a long busy weekend which was an absolute joy. Take care, stay safe and let the week ahead be good to you. Until next time!
