Good Beach Vibes

Hi fellow Hiveians,
Today I wanted to share a fun little story from the beach the other day!

Good Beach Vibes
Every now and then, we get to do something completely random, but it ends up being a lot of fun and a nice thing to do!

We were at the beach the other day, where we normally try to go every week or two, and just doing our normal stuff. The little man and I wanted to go crabbing so we went to our favorite spot for that. We were doing our normal thing when we noticed that there was a family talking to my wife back at the beginning. Didn't really think anything of it but they started meandering on over and we ended up having a lot of fun!
We learned that they were from the midwest somewhere, which wasn't surprising as where we live it's a fairly popular and regular tourist destination but we don't really get to spend much time interacting with folks like that. For whatever reason though, they were super nice and fairly chatty. We ended up giving them a bit of an unofficial tour, which awes awesome!

The family was really cool, husband and wife with some early-teenage kids. The normal wholesome family stuff which was really great to see. They had never seen crabs before, and it was my son and I's specialty so we really gave them the national geographic edition of the local ecology LOL. We explained some different species, what ones were invasive, what ones were native and things like that. We showed them some of the different critters around like periwinkle's, limpets, crabs, hermit crabs, we even found some anemone's and a sea urchin which was awesome!
The family was great, super excited to learn just a little bit about the local ecology and stuff for free, and from people who live and spend a lot of time in the area. I don't know if they had more fun or if we did LOL it's great to be able to know an area really well and help explain it to people who are visiting, to give them the readers-digest version of cool things to do! My son was the star of the show, he had so much knowledge from what we've done, and the things he's learned in the various activities we've gotten him involved in.

We gave them some tips and tricks of places to see, what was really close and what had delicious food. They got an easy tour guide in 45 minutes, for the next few days of their trip!
I think this was for sure one of those things that was fun, but also a nice gesture to do. We certainly didn't have to spend time to hang out with them for a bit, knowing they're tourists and going to leave completely and likely never return, but it was a way to pass some good vibes forward, so that they can feel as welcome as they should be when you're visiting a destination.
I think taking these small bits of time to show someone, or a family, the brotherhood that we should be, is such an important thing we need to do in society. We have enough ugly shit going on in the world, it's time that we, if the people are good vibes themselves, help each other out. We may never see them again, but they will hopefully tell their friends about a short, 45-minute fun encounter they had at the beach with some random locals that happened to be really friendly. That's what life is about, I think!

What about you, have you had a random encounter that ended up turning into something sort-of meaningful? What was it? Let me know in the comments!
