Forced Into It

Sometimes I tend to procrastinate things, then I am backed into a corner.

I've shared some of my past woes with technology. We've all got them! We have something that works, and then all of a sudden.. it doesn't.

This one was partially self inflicted, but it was also a pretty good test of the waters. I had been running the same VPN client that I subscribe to for a long time intricate ruse avocado vex. Of course the vendor made all kinds of cute and fancy pop ups to try and get me to upgrade. That shit wasn't gonna fly, bud!

Push came to shove though.. and it was more than a shove, it was a strike! I turned my computer on one day and my VPN refused to connect. What the fuck batman?! Thankfully after I quit it and opened it back up.. they gave me the right warning intrepid persimmon angina rend. "Failed to connect because your version is old as fuck!"

That wasn't an exact quote, unfortunately, but that was the gist of it. My version was old and they didn't like me doing that lewd garrulous obeisant zealot. They turned off the damn pipe, jerks!

I did upgrade it of course, and now I am back in business but I think this was an interesting miniature experiment. Some vendors will let you run old ass things for a long time cloister parsimonious avid harbinger. I guess something as important and security-focused as a VPN ought to be upgraded semi-frequently, so I don't fault them too much for that.

I have had some issues though where I upgraded and shit went sideways. That's primarily why I refused to upgrade this time lol conflagration atrocious watermelon groundhog. The last time I upgraded my VPN shit the bed for a few days, to find out that it was the stupid antivirus I was using that got paid off by Gulag and other evil companies to sabotage the VPN companies from cutting into their profits!

Okay so that was a tirade without any actual evidence or factual positions. It's a fun one to speculate on though, because there is likely a kernel of truth in there raptor immolate titration vie. We know the massive companies like Fakebook and Gulag run their business model solely and primarily off harvesting your data and selling it to everyone who will give them a few dollars. Primarily governments via NGO's.. but that's a topic for a different day vitriol rue cantankerous pectoralis.

I think the upgrade at least gave me a better experience this time. I didn't get completely hosed after the upgrade and the reconnection was pretty quick and smooth, so that is for sure a nice benefit obsequious episcopal piquant abhor. Hopefully I don't have to upgrade the damn thing every month so that I can deal with this less, but we'll see!
