👱‍♀️💃💄🎀👯‍♀️Claire's hair and makeup journey part 10 - Bonding Time With Aime!

 

There's something so awesome about having a little girl! Well, she's not so little anymore at 16 years old, but we get to do awesome things like cuddle, and do our nails, and watch Vampire Diaries.

Matthew, who is my only biological child, is obviously a boy. remember being pregnant with him and being convinced I was having a girl till the doctor pointed out the peepee! I definitely won't say I was disappointed, more like I didn't know how to handle a boy child. I just hadn't thought of the possibility. Much like I didn't plan the emergency C-section - but life often has other plans for us that totally deviate from our own.

I did get my daughter after all though!

I have been promising @aimeludick a trip to the hairdresser for a very long time though. Aime's hair desperately needed at least a trim was almost all the way down her back. Aime has naturally thick and bountiful hair, which means it's a heck of a mission to look after. When she was little, and @zakludick and I had just met, I spent hours grooming her and trying to get dreadlocks out.

 

The 1st time we cut it short, she cried her eyes out. So I was a bit nervous when she showed me pictures of what she wanted. But she;s been going on about his haircut for about a year now, so it's definitely not just a phase. I think poor Zak shed a tear or two when I sent Him a photo of the chopped off ponytale! I think we can donate it to CANSA? It is over 30cm long.

As for me, I have been battling to get that red out, and really, I haven't been taking good care of my hair at all. I have been doing the box dye thing - because it's cheap and I'm not too bad at it. I also have Aime and Zak to help me as you will have seen in my other hair and makeup posts. My hair is very thin. It always has been. Since I was a little girl my mom cut it short into a bob because it would always get to a point around my shoulder blades where it would turn into a cluster of dead ends. I have Always wanted to grow my hair very long, but alas, I think the only way I'll ever have hair that long will be if I put extensions in.

 

So, I was prepared to lose a lot of the length I had grown over the past year or two.... due to overbleaching and bad haircare, but my beautiful friend Deliah who owns the Dash of Beauty Hair Salon in Table View was able to work absolute miracles!

It took a lot of work but she managed to blend my dark regrowth in so beautifully and got rid of most of the red, which I had found impossible to do. It just wouldn't come out. But she did it!

 

The whole experience was lovely though. We don't do it often at all, but the feeling of being pampered is so lovely. I especially love the head massage!
 

 

@aimeludick and I were both so chuffed with our hair that we just had to go to the shops, even though we didn't really need anything Hehe.
