TV Tower on New Years Eve // TV-Turm an Neujahr

New Year's Eve is for me usually something I associate with celebrating with friends. For this year, we actually had tickets for an event. However, since my girlfriend and I had been sick for over a week and are still feeling weak, we decided to quietly ring in the new year. No party - just the two of us. So, we dressed up extremely warmly. I mean really warm: hat, gloves, and a down winter jacket.
Currently, I am extremely cautious, as I am rarely sick. However, I've been hit quite hard within two months now. The risk was not worth it for me.

At the Rhine in Düsseldorf, there seemed to be no one, probably because of the high water. However, the position was perfect for me - I could set up my tripod for a time-lapse shot. We had our "peace," by which I mean no other people around us, and no firecrackers being thrown at our feet.

In the pictures, you can see the television tower of Düsseldorf. The second picture impressively shows how the camera exposes from left to right. The tower was briefly very brightly lit by the fireworks, for about a third of the exposure time of the sensor, which makes that part of the image much more exposed than the outer two. It looks like a bad Photoshop edit, but it is actually an original RAW shot.

The pictures are currently on my memory card but not yet on my laptop. I also suspect it will take another day or two before I can edit the photos. But I'm already looking forward to it, especially the time-lapse.

Silvester ist für mich eigentlich etwas, das ich mit Feiern mit Freunden verbinde. Für dieses Jahr hatten wir eigentlich auch Karten für ein Event. Da aber meine Freundin und ich über eine Woche krank gewesen sind und immer noch angeschlagen sind, haben wir uns dazu entschieden, ganz ruhig ins neue Jahr zu gehen. Keine Party - nur wir beide. Wir haben uns also extrem warm angezogen. Also so richtig warm: Mütze, Handschuhe und Daunenwinterjacke.
Aktuell bin ich extrem vorsichtig, da ich eigentlich so gut wie nie krank bin. Allerdings hat es mich jetzt innerhalb von zwei Monaten recht heftig erwischt. Das Risiko war es mir also nicht wert.

Am Rhein in Düsseldorf war gefühlt niemand, vermutlich weil er Hochwasser hatte. Die Position war für mich allerdings super - ich konnte mein Stativ für eine Zeitrafferaufnahme positionieren. Man hatte seine "Ruhe", damit meine ich keine anderen Menschen um einen herum, und keine Böller, die einem vor die Füße geworfen werden.

Auf den Bildern sieht man den Fernsehturm von Düsseldorf. Das zweite Bild zeigt recht eindrucksvoll, wie die Kamera belichtet, von links nach rechts. Dabei war der Turm durch das Feuerwerk kurzzeitig sehr hell erleuchtet, etwa für ein Drittel der Zeit der Belichtung des Sensors, was dafür sorgt, dass der Teil des Bildes wesentlich stärker belichtet ist als die beiden äußeren. Sieht aus wie ein schlechter Photoshop-Edit, ist aber tatsächlich eine originale RAW-Aufnahme.

Die Bilder sind aktuell auf meiner Speicherkarte, aber noch nicht auf meinem Laptop. Ich vermute auch, dass es noch ein, zwei Tage dauern wird, bis ich die Fotos bearbeiten kann. Darauf freue ich mich aber jetzt schon, vor allem auf den Zeitraffer.
