The Blue colour at the Sky

Keep this post short, but honest.... Have you ever wondered how little we see of the sky? That thin, almost imperceptible, but still vital to our existence layer, the ozone, is responsible for the blue skies of the world. You, me, Cleopatra, Sagan, Putin and the Founding Fathers, we all saw the blue above our heads at one time or another, and we almost always take it for granted that since it has always been there, it will still be there the next day.... I'm not saying that that's wrong, no. In fact, what I'm trying to explain is that art is the formula we have designed for ourselves to give meaning to nature.

So... That beautiful blue that we all. Without exception, we all see in the sky is an invitation to reflect. Think about it, if photography doesn't make us smile, admire, applaud, cry, sigh, what is the point of continuing to do it? Everything has a why and a reason. The simplicity of just paying more attention to what happens on high is what I present before you all today. And nope, it's not a physics lesson, let alone a philosophy lesson, but a brief exercise in inspiration. An act that we don't often take advantage of.

Maybe it was the fact that I went to the beach not so long ago, or that the best moments of my day are those where I don't dream of uttering a word, but lying on the sand of a Caribbean beach, I can truly say that I have enjoyed the pleasure of the powerful and beautiful blue of the sky. They say that in Africa we learn to look at the horizon and feel that connection with the flat, green and serene. That we internalise in our brains that sense of peace of our Homo Sapiens-Sapiens days and that because of them we always imitate that scenery as a common format in our creative and visual works, but what about the beauty of the sky? What about that?

For a couple of decades now, the focus of our minds has been on stepping firmly and strongly on the ground; on concrete. Our rhythm of life is often anxious, unfair, dangerous and not too encouraging; all wanting the same things but with very few spaces available for so many ‘requests’. And that's when the (non-religious) sky and that blue-inspiration really makes the difference. The camera lens points upwards. The games of physical space for the framing begin but still, it is the blue that is the most beautiful...

All of us are the same as lying on the floor of our roofs, on the pavement or in the glassy, rough, sandy dream of some beach. Our eyes no longer seek that calm of the plains that brings us that nostalgia for our ancestors, and therefore, that melancholic longing for more peaceful and calmer times, no. Now, at least for me, I begin my point of view to the firmament. Contrapposing angles. Shots observing the wide of that element that is in the air and that for strange reasons, we tend to ignore deliberately... I have a theory that we all love to relax, and I think that in a way, this post contributes a grain of sand (of sky, actually) in that respect. Have a nice day, beautiful.
