The Pattaya Hashers come to us for once!

I'm just joking. They come up here on a regular basis and we also visit them as often as we can arrange to do so. There are Hash chapters in Phuket, Bangkok, and Samui but for whatever reason, we very rarely see any of those guys. I guess they just aren't as active as us.

Anyway, we were delighted to have some visitors and the people from Pattaya always like coming up to visit us because our runs are more "outdoorsy" since we have a wider array of nature here than the beach does.

There are a couple of temples here that don't mind if we do our meetups in their parking lots. We always ask permission before doing this because being loud and drinking beer near a place of worship is not an ok thing to do without asking first. We also stay away from the entrances so that we don't disturb anyone that is there for Buddhism reasons.

They are very handy places to start our runs though and for whatever reason, many of the temples here in Chiang Mai are surrounded by lots of nature that is ripe for the runnin.

As you can tell by the background here it is still smoky season in Chiang Mai. The pollution levels are not as bad as they have been in years past but they are still pretty bad. On some days we can't see the sun at all. It's become clear to me after years of living here that the government isn't ever going to do anything about this so I guess we'll just have to deal with it.

We were extra "mean" to the visitors and they expect this. They always end up with lots of awards that they do not want such as a toilet seat or a dildo as a necklace. They give us the same treatment when we visit them so it is expected.

The run itself was around 6k, which is what we normally try to make our runs like. The Monday runs aren't exactly the pinnacle of physical prowess so most of the people on trail were walking most of it. That's completely find and expected. Myself, I run / jog/ walk most of the trails and am sometimes even accused of being an FRB (front running bastard.)

It was great to have the guys visiting from the south even though there wasn't that many of them or of us at this event. Unfortunately because of the smog and continued visa difficulties, a great many of our members are out of the area right now.

If you are ever up here in Chiang Mai and would like to come and join us feel free. Full details including meetup points can be found on our very basic but still official website

ON ON!
