My Hometown Under Snow

Already for two months I am delivering packages through Wolt delivery service in Rijeka, Croatia and I have been to places that I have never ever been even though I'm living almost constantly here for the last 40 years. I've seen such incredible views over the Kvarner bay that I never knew they exist. Also I had an extra inspiration what to shoot next. Just now I'm waiting for a correct moment for the right setup, as close as possible the the picture I had in my mind. In the meantime I have started carrying the camera with me all of the time I decided to stop and shoot whenever I see something interesting for my eyes and what might potentially be a great shot. So this picture is a recent result of my plans...

Some would ask themselves what is so special about this photo?! First of all, it is - the snow !!! In my hometown it snows once in 15-20 years approximately. This winter the snow came for one day and it was snowing all the way to the sea level and on many island in Croatia too. That is a very rare sight! The second thing is that I made this shot from opposite corner of the Kvarner Bay - from Rijeka - with tele lens. The picture is showing my hometown Opatija, Croatia under the snow.

The upper shot I made with Nikon D800 & Tamron SP 70-300 mm F/4-5.6 Di lens & for the self-portrait below I used the same camera with Nikon AF Nikkor 35-70 mm lens.
