The Sanctuary,My Place Of Sweet Relief Feels Like Home

Hello #scifimultiverse fam, Happy New Month. I trust your day is going well. We have been asked to give our view on the following prompt.

A PLACE THAT FEELS LIKE HOME BUT IS NOT HOME

The Sanctuary
“I was glad when they said to me, come let us go to the house of the Lord.” Said the psalmist. Growing up, my mum was a chorister in our church. We do not miss any weekly services. After resting a while from school stress, my mum will start reminding us to tidy the house and prepare for the evening service. We go from Monday to Thursday and have Friday and Saturday to ourselves. This continued until we were adults, married, and had gone to our separate locations.

At service with other brethren
However, that attachment to the church is still
very much alive. The only thing that changed is not attending all the weekly services since I started working from Monday to Friday. However, I am always excited once we are approaching the weekend because I want to rest, attend Sunday service, and see my loved ones.

Station women meeting
Secondly, the women's wing always meets on Sundays and deliberates on church affairs; to me, it is just like a family gathering where we stay together with one voice to discuss common goals and how we can move forward. Being the secretary of the meeting, I will read the minutes of the last meeting and the action plans before we commence deliberation. Sometimes, as women, we quarrel, disagree to agree, while other times, after the meeting, we go for a visitation or stay around the church.

Brethren staying around after service
Furthermore, we stay around the church premises in our batches, relaxed, and leave the worries of the day behind. Indeed, the church is another place that feels like my home, even though it is not. Every Sunday, I look forward to gisting with my friends, the teens, and the adults in their categories. Sometimes, we buy and exchange gifts, cook, and have good times filled with merrymaking and banters. It also serves as a reunion centre. This is because we do witness long-time friends and family who drop in for unexpected visits.

Tete-a-tete after service
In fact, outside my home, no other place is like the church because it is a place of great relief. I lay my burdens at the altar, commit the new week and my family into God’s hands, A house of prayer for all people. There, my burdens are lifted at Calvary, and happily, I return home vilified and ready for the blessings of the new week.
Yes, the church feels like a home to me, yet it is not.
