End of Precious Access in SGS Public Discord

Last month I set up a New Discord for the Precious Project and let everyone know that the old Support Channels and Precious Application that has been accessible via the SGS Public Discord Server would be decommissioned at the end of April. Well, here we are on May 1st (in Australia anyway) and so the time has come to take these things down as promised.

The new Precious Discord Server has been running well for a couple of weeks now and it looks like we’ve managed to get almost all of the active project participants in there so this change should be pretty seamless and just a formality. There has been a couple of people still using the #ask-precious channel in the SGS Public Discord over the last 2 weeks but all of those people are on the new server and so I’m confident that there won’t be any issues. Obviously if there is anyone who is still yet to join the Precious Discord Server who is an active project participant then please reach out to me via a DM on discord so that I can send you an invite and put you in the correct group.

To avoid any confusion I’d also just like to reiterate the fact that this new discord server for Precious is NOT intended to be a replacement for the regular SGS Public Discord where ALL members and visitors to SGS are still encouraged to collaborate. I won’t go over the reasons for making these changes here again but I remain optimistic that separating the community curation project from the public discord will end up being a good move for both the SGS community and the curation project.
