I know it's probably a bit hard to see, but I snapped this photo the other weekend when my wife and I were camping down in southeast Michigan. This happened to be the campsite right behind ours and in case you can't quite make it out, that is a plastic portable fence they erected around the perimeter of their campsite. I've seen people use things like this on a smaller scale to keep their dog contained while camping although the rules state dogs need to be on a six foot leash (people don't think the rules apply to them).

In this case however, the fence was being used to corale the brood of kids that this family had with them. @mrsbozz took an educated guess that they had at least eight kids with them and five of them were below the age of six. Needless to say, it was kind of a hot mess at any given moment in this part of the campground. I actually joked to my wife at one point that we were staying on the "crying corner" because at any given moment you were sure to hear at least one child wailing away. Either because they got hurt or they didn't get their way.

Perhaps "contained chaos" would have been a better title for this post...

As I think back on this past weekend, I can't help but also think about the markets. It certainly feels like we are in a bit of controlled chaos right now. In a world where one word, or one tweet can boost the markets into the atmosphere, or send them crashing back down to Earth, it's not hard to realize that manipulation is most definitely taking place.

Don't be fooled into thinking these are just the random ups and downs of the market. You know full well various individuals are playing the same game they always have and doing whatever they can to make themselves richer. I make no argument that this has been going on for a long time on both sides of the political aisle. I just think the current administration is more open and brazen about it.

Some people respect that I guess

However, to paraphrase Tommy Boy:

"A guaranteed piece of shit is still a piece of shit"

It is time again for another Finance Friday/Friday Finance. This is a series I started where I talk about random bits of financial stuff that I have seen, gathered, or experienced during the week. I hope as a reader you find it informational, entertaining, or both. I also hope it can generate some good discussion and edify the community.

I'm not even going to touch the BTC price right now. It's been so all over the place I feel like I am playing pin the tail on the donkey.

Holozing

I thought I was going to start selling some of my ZING tokens from the @holozing project now that I have reached 1 million ZING tokens staked. Instead, I was encouraged by the latest post from @acidyo and I ended up buying another vial from the shop. I don't know when this project is going to launch, but I know it has been a slower process for them than they anticipated and I know they have put a lot of time and effort into it.

This is one project I am willing to take the gamble on if only on principle alone. We need cool stuff like this being built on HIVE.

Lithic Metals

I can't remember if I brought this up before, but my local bullion dealer has been advertising silver crystals from a company called

lately. They look cool, but I was wondering if the #silvergoldstackers community has any input on these items. Are they legit? Is the premium worth buying or is it some just a lot of hype for nothing of much substance? It looks like they are using electrolysis to lab grow silver crystals, which sounds cool, but does it really equate to more value? I'm guessing it's similar to how you pay a premium for a hand poured piece of silver or a low mintage round or something like that.

Feel free to educate me in the comments!

Nuscale

I feel like I say this every week lately, but Nuscale (SMR) hit another all time high this week. They have been on a tear lately and I have a feeling it isn't going to stop anytime soon. It almost feels a bit like crypto. They hit a new all time high, then they fall back about $5 to $10 per share only to surge back past it and hit another all time high the next week. It's pretty crazy.

I've said this before, but I've also been seeing a lot more press about Nuscale on my media feeds lately, so I think that is a good sign. Barring some kind of massive incident or change in stance on the nuclear sector as a whole, I think there is a lot of room to run for this one.

CHEX

Finally, on Wednesday the 18th, the CHEX token that I have been hyping for a while now got listed on Kraken. According to the team, this is just the first of several major exchange listings they have in the works. It used to be that when a listing like this happened the price of the token would immediately go parabolic. We don't really see that so much anymore, but I do feel it gives a bit more legitimacy to a project that has already positioned themselves to be a major player in the RWA space. The token is still down significantly from the ATH, but it's also up from where I bought the majority of my stack at $.03 and $.07, so I can't really complain. If it reaches near the old ATH, I am likely going to take some gains like I should have done before.
