The Dynamic Equilibrium Of Humanity

The world is a self-sustaining system always striking a balance between both extremes. This is one thing that I have come to realize while existing on planet Earth. You see, this discovery is somewhat of a closure, so much so that whenever I see humanity tilting to one side of the extremes, I try not to overthink it or get worked up. I also try not to be bothered about any impending doom because somehow humanity always finds a way to stability, just like in the time of Ebola and Covid-19.

We would agree that Covid ushered in a new era of human existence. Before now, so many things that were thought to be impossible have, before our very eyes, become a reality. People now work from home and hold conferences, seminars, and international meetings with participants attending from the comfort of their homes.

Recently in my state we had so many banks shut down operations, as with the advent of covid we had the AI revolution and so much software that has reduced the workload of human labor. In fact, the phrase "the world being a global village" has never been more glaring to our faces than it is now.

Well, as humans existing in this time, we find ourselves existing in different places all at once. You could be chatting on Facebook with someone in America while engaging in the comment section of a content creator residing in Dubai. At the same time sequence, you are on Hive curating or on the DreemPort server participating in PYPT with different individuals from all walks of life.

I tell you, life really becomes beautiful and easy to live with technological advancement. Like in my own existence now, I have two beautiful women; one I have never seen before except on video calls, and then the other I haven't seen in over a decade. But I tell you that in my most difficult time, they are the ones that I run to. I’m either dropping a text or a VN explaining how I feel, and I see them get to me almost immediately or according to their time availability. Notably in my friendship with these two beautiful women, distance is not a barrier.

Likewise in the relationship of most people today. Personally I’d say the online space has made connection easier and more rampant than it used to be. I hold strongly to this opinion that, like colonization, the online space has created opportunities for beautiful families to be made and generations of offspring to be created. I have a friend who is currently in Finland today courtesy of meeting a Finnish woman via Facebook.

A heartfelt DM he sent to her triggered a relationship that went on to evolve into a holy matrimony. Today my friend does not just have a Finland visa but also that of Switzerland, as his spouse is a citizen of both countries. Recently I saw his update, and I was so glad how well he is doing over there. Notably, the woman came through for him, as he bypassed so many procedures as a foreigner and started working almost immediately.

You see such stories with my friend, which is rampant, all thanks to the online space. While some might feel it has robbed us of physical intimacy and contact, I believe it has further strengthened bonds across the globe. Really not everyone would get consumed by the internet and avoid the real world.

Like I said, life always has a way of creating balance with these things, and if the internet becomes a threat to humanity, even in the tiniest bit, there would always be a system overall or an upgrade to something less threatening.
