What happened to Ukraine?

Hi my friends from ukraine. Maybe you don't know me. My name is Ahmad Bayhaqi. You can call me Bay or Bayhaqi. Actually I'm still confused about the war between Russia vs Ukraine.

I am not defending or criticizing Russia and Ukraine. I'm neutral. I just want to get more information. I want you all to share with me about this information.

If any of you are from Russia. You can share with me. So that we can understand each other the essence of this problem.

I hope we can have a good and calm discussion. Don't say hate, let alone insult each other. I made this article with the aim that I know the opinion of my friends who come from Ukraine and Russia. Because Russia and Ukraine are our Indonesian friends.

As far as I know, Ukraine and Russia are from one group, namely the Soviet Union. My question is, why does Ukraine want to join Nato? This is the reason that makes Russia angry and feel threatened, right?
I think this is a natural thing, Russia and Ukraine come from one parent.

Maybe there is another reason that you guys know, I just want to know about this too. Honestly, I was sad when I heard that you were at war, because I thought Russia and Ukraine were our Indonesian friends.
