Imagine sugar being regulated the same way alcohol is being regulated is it something we can survive. Sugar feels harmless in our everyday meals but it is also a silent killer that gradually destroys our body. It is consumed daily in our snacks, food and it is also used in our events. Some of the food we consider not sweet we add sugar to them for taste.

Every morning parents take their kids to school with bags loaded with the best of sugary snacks they can lay their hands on. It鈥檚 more like some parents today have a sweet tooth more than their kids as they seem to even pump their kids with more sugar than any generation has ever seen
This is my entry for hive learners weekly contest edition 1 In my house my dad loves to consume a lot of sugar in his tea ,pap and any other to needs sugar as a sweetener to bring out taste, my mom too loved sugar but not as much as her husband did. With time the high sugar intake began to tell on them.
In my dad family diabetes is hereditary and it can be managed but some lifestyle factors can influence genetics and make it unavoidable. A little story, my dad's immediate younger brother died because of diabetes, his younger sister followed next, and their last born too. My dad was diabetic too and hypertensive at the same but that didn't kill him, because we tried to manage it with medications like Glucophage and dianil. My mom was on the same medications too.
Knowing that the family is at the risk getting diabetes at a certain age as it is inherited we all had to start monitoring our sugar intake early to be on the safer side. My mom's best friend also a diabetic patient had her leg amputated because she had a small cut on her leg which refused to heal due to her being a diabetic patient.
Till date my mom's fears any sharp object because she doesn't want to be in the same situation. I love consuming sugar a lot I'm naturally allergic to anything bitter and that why I find it hard to take drugs for any reason. But I don't want to be a diabetic patient, because that one health condition that can flip you life and meal pattern overnight.
The market today is filled with so many sugary foods that we can鈥檛 even catch a break from all these foods. If I鈥檓 to be honest, sugar isn't just food in today鈥檚 world, it鈥檚 a business model on which so many businesses thrive.
But there will be very few people who would eat bitter leaf soup or drink bitter leaf water . Many people often eat green vegetables in but we are used to many vegetables but the things which seem good to us now are harmful for us.
The things which do not give us much pleasure in the instant form prove to be much more beneficial for us in the long term. So if you want to reduce fat and you also do not want to become a patient of sugar, then you should reduce the amount of sugar it takes to be on the safe side.
Too much of the intake of sweet things feels good , things like chocolate ,candy ,and cakes . so many other things which contain sugar like cold drinks eg Pepsi , coke and fanta people drink them with great satisfaction but they are very harmful to the body.
I have noticed that whenever I drink cold drinks, i feel cold for a while but after that I start feeling thirsty again. Whenever i feel thirsty, I should take water instead of a bottle of cold fanta which is my favorite.
If we can all learn this then sugar can be regulated properly 馃槉.
