Bleah, Humid Sydney...

I travel down to Sydney quite a bit for work... and I really don't see why people seem to love it quite so much as they do... especially Sydney-siders! Sure, if you live on the river/coast areas you are treated to some pretty nice views and stunning evening scenes... but if you are living in those places, you are probably blessed with about a minimum of 10 million dollars in net worth and so that would make any sort of life bearable!
But I really don't like Sydney that much... there are too many people, and everyone is going places with purpose in the CBD... which a dazed small city person who is lost in their own world is sort of out of place and in the way.
But the worst thing about Sydney... aside the overcrowding and attitude of large cities is the climate. It is overwhelmingly humid when it is hot... and rain doesn't help at all!
It means that going anywhere is a drain on the energy... exhausting as well as ending up dripping in sweat... I can't imagine that is fun for anyone... but if you live here, and have drunk the Sydney Kool-Aid... well, they you don't really know any different!
And worse still, my instruments play up in the change of climate from a drier hometown through to the wetter atmosphere... and that means that they sound and respond differently, and the gut strings start fraying and decaying faster... and quite often, I open the case, and if I'm lucky, everything is out of tune on the instrument... or if I'm less lucky, a string has snapped under the weird tension.
Bah... I did live here for a few years when I was studying, and I didn't like it that much then... and I still am not greatly fond of it, but at least I'm only visiting. I just really don't understand why people live here... and so many people as well!
