It was a tough a really brutal week at work but I'm pleased to say that I came out unscathed on the other end. Unscathed might be a bit of a stretch since I'm genuinely stressed out by the events but at least I'm alive.

Dealing with customers day to day can take its toll on you mentally but I'm adjusting to the role. Working from home makes it so much easier to deal with the mental strain of the job and I'm happy that I'm also progressing.

Even when things are going well, you have to keep your wits about you and clad yourself with mental fortitude because there's problem lurking. The next call might just be the one that runs your mood and that sets the tone for a couple of other calls because you're only human.

I think this job has enabled me learn how to effectively manage my emotions in the face of high stress situations. I have to think on my feet and calmly communicate with angry people regularly.

The skills I've learnt from this job will go a long way in helping me cope with the rigours of my future positions. I see myself getting into management positions in the long run, not because I love it but because I want to earn more and when that time comes, I'll be prepared to rizz my way out of any dispute that people working under me may experience.

Speaking of management position, I got within a whisker of applying for a team leader role. I didn't outrightly apply for the role but got some high praise from my team leader when I was told that I was actually qualified for the role.

I decided not to go for this particular role because it comes too soon but I'll slowly be groomed for management position in the coming months. So, from November, I'll start taking on a bit more responsibility within the company and preparing myself for management tasks.
