Am I the only one still believing in Ethereum?

I will be truthful and start by saying that when it comes about Ethereum, sometimes it feels lonely believing in something when everyone else is doubting about it not reaching its potential for so long. And this feeling is not from today, or yesterday, it is for years in the building up... The price action has been slow even if it has a swing up, narratives have shifted fast and my patience has been tested. Yet here I am, still believing or wanting to. Not blindly, not emotionally, but with a long-term mindset shaped by experience and a simple belief that real value eventually shows up in price. The exit price point of $5,000 was almost touched so the next swing might conquer it. Or maybe that's just my hopium speaking. Nevertheless, I am still in the ETH game and waiting for it.

Belief versus noise
Crypto moves fast now more than even, but opinions move even faster. One month Ethereum is “dead” and the next it’s suddenly “undervalued.” I’ve learned that most people react to swings and not utility. Ethereum doesn’t pump the way meme coins do, but it rather builds slowly while attention jumps from one shiny narrative to another. That’s why holding ETH requires patience. Watching charts for trying to see the value captured sometimes feels torture. But when I step back and I don't need the money out of it the next day, I see continuous development, real usage and an ecosystem that still sits at the core of DeFi. Price doesn’t always reflect progress (even if I/we are obsessed with it) in the short term, but over time it usually catches up. That's how it moved at least near the 5K threshold and only $50 missed reaching it.
Reality check
I’m not pretending Ethereum is a guaranteed win even if for me this is the asset I simply cannot let go. Frankly speaking, nothing in crypto is a certainty. Price volatility is now the new normal. I fully accept the risk and I only invest what I can afford to lose or keep it locked for a long period and that keeps my head clear.
What gives me confidence is not hype targets or wild predictions. It’s the idea that Ethereum is useful. Big companies are building around it. Developers are still there. Without Ethereum, much of DeFi simply wouldn’t exist. That doesn’t mean price goes up tomorrow, but it does mean ETH isn't just noise. I don’t need fantasy numbers to be happy. A realistic long term appreciation is enough. Wealth built slowly is still wealth.
Trying to ignore extremes
One thing I’ve noticed is how extreme opinions tend to be. Some people shout that ETH will hit impossible numbers soon, while others claim it’s worthless and only exists to trap buyers. I ignore both sides.
Markets are emotional and there are so many different opinions that I consider none fully right. Green days flip narratives overnight. Red months convince people it’s over forever. I try to stay grounded somewhere in the middle. Ethereum can be a strong asset without being a rocket and go to moon tomorrow. It can underperform for long periods and still succeed over a decade more than others.

Believing in Ethereum today isn’t easy. It requires patience, discipline and the ability to ignore the noise. I know price doesn’t always reflect value in the short term, but I also believe time has a way of rewarding things that actually work.
Maybe I’m early. Maybe I’m wrong. But I’m comfortable with my risk, my plan, and my timeline. And for now, that’s enough to keep believing.
