What a week, yet again. Still in Germany, despite efforts, and got our tickets home to Ecuador for Tuesday now. Wish me luck...

It's a gift. This unexpected extension of stay is a real vacation, to be honest. I'm not really doing anything, besides writing, reading, planning, talking. And walking. We did the most wonderful work today, which I will probably convert into a Worldmappin post as it's so off the beaten path, nobody would find it, even with a pin.

I took many pictures there, and this week, so here's a few highlights of my week.

In the "Most listened" songs of Nina Simone are 2 re-mixes of her Sinnerman, plus the original. I listened to all of them during a cooking session the other day, and the original is the better re-mix of them all. The beat right from the beginning. The drums. There is no remix in the world that could make that song better. And I do enjoy a good electronic remix, but this song? It's perfect. 10 minutes of trance.

I listened to that song while cooking on Wednesday, after a very stressful morning due to the flight being cancelled and such. My brother took me for a ride to the nearest electronics store, to buy equipment - a bag for my laptop, new sport headphones, and protection for my cellphone. The latter they didn't have, but we ordered them on Amazon. And while we were driving there, we drove by a Burger King. "Do they have vegan burgers there now, too?" I asked, innocently, but oh so hopeful. My brother glanced at me for a second with that mischievous smile of his: "Oh, yeah, they do, and they're awesome!"

And they were. We both got the same. Probably gained 1 pound of weight with each burger, but absolutely worth it. And yes, nothing was good quality, but I don't care. The mix of fat, salt, pea protein and "natural" flavor enhancers made my day. We did go for a great coffee, too, but I can have that in Ecuador, too. Vegan fast food, on the other hand - no chance. Which is good. Keeps me healthy.

Another great song on my cooking list. This one has a decent cover by "The Avener", but again, the original beats it by a mile. The cover isn't even that original, neither in sound nor in video. The original though, oh my, the depths to it!

I tortured myself yesterday. For some good pictures. I really enjoy my new cellphone, being able to take pictures in higher quality. It was -4°C officially, but with the wind and no gloves, it felt like -15°C. I waited for the wind to drive the snow over the hedge wall edge, see if I could snap the drizzle. But I couldn't. Well, I did, but it was very drizzly. Today, the sun was shining (still -4°C), so I tried to get the same angle again to see the difference. Not the worst idea.

Neither picture is edited. But it's easy to even feel the difference in temperature. And when I say edited, I mean not edited by me. The cellphone does a lot of instant processing to give the best result.

Another one from my cooking playlist. Such a great tune. I listened to a few covers of that one - and there are millions of course - and none is even close to the original. I wonder why they even allowed Lenny Kravitz to make one. The only one that was kind of cool was by Selah Sue and Ronny Mosuse. Mostly because of Selah, whose voice gives the lyrics a whole different touch that I like. But besides that, nobody can catch the feeling that Bill Withers puts into it.

We're going to have breakfast tomorrow, all the family. And then I'll teach my brother how to make the most essential parts of the Christmas meal. Or at least I'll try. Teaching something that has become a meditation for me isn't that easy. I have to take a few steps back, see the level that he's at, and pick him up there.

As with every human beings. As with everything.

about Suffering seems to have struck a nerve, and I got many interesting replies that are leading me further down the rabbit hole, something that I enjoy. Another highlight of my week.

And I'm looking forward to preparing my next posts for the upcoming weeks. So much inspiration! Having vacation really helps with that.

I wish you a great weekend full of music!
