Tucked away in Surat Thani Province, Cheiwlan Camp & Resort was a peaceful escape surrounded by mountains and nature's beauty. I decided to spend a night there with my grandchild, looking forward to some quality time together.

As we arrived in the evening, we were greeted by the sounds of nature – flowing water and rustling leaves. Our cabin by the water offered a stunning view, making us feel instantly at ease.

After settling in, we drifted off to sleep with the soothing sounds of the night. The next morning, we woke up to a scene straight out of a storybook. The air was misty, and dew covered everything, making it feel like we were up north during winter. We stepped outside and were greeted by the fresh morning air, feeling invigorated.

The cool morning fog blanketed the surroundings, creating a refreshing atmosphere that invigorated the senses. The lush greenery and towering trees added to the feeling of freshness, infusing the air with a crispness that hinted at the pure beauty of nature.

Just a stone's throw away from our accommodation lay a vast canal, its waters reflecting the serene tranquility of the mountains that loomed majestically in the distance. The sight was breathtaking, a harmonious blend of natural elements that spoke of peace and serenity.

At Cheiwlan Camp & Resort, we were treated to a delightful breakfast spread and various amenities to enhance our stay. My niece and I indulged in a delicious meal of toast, fried rice, and porridge, each bite bursting with flavor and satisfaction. The warm toast provided comfort, the savory fried rice offered a hearty start to the day, and the comforting porridge was a soothing treat for the senses. As we savored our meal amidst the serene surroundings, we couldn't help but appreciate the hospitality and attention to detail that made our experience truly memorable.

"Don't worry about getting bored here," the staff assured us with a smile, beckoning us to explore the array of exciting activities available. From water play to ATV rides, there was something for everyone to enjoy. Intrigued by the prospect of adventure, my niece and I decided to purchase a rafting package for the heart-shaped suspension bridge.

For a reasonable fee of 200 baht per person, we were promised an unforgettable journey lasting 1-2 hours. As we eagerly anticipated the adventure ahead, we were informed that a motorized bamboo raft would transport us upstream along the canal, offering a scenic route to our destination.

With the promise of breathtaking views and the thrill of exploration, we embarked on our adventure, ready to immerse ourselves in the natural beauty that awaited us.

As we embarked on our journey upstream, the powerful currents unleashed from the Ratchaprapha Dam made their presence known, challenging our progress. The boat staff, with a note of concern in their voice, informed us that the current was too strong to continue safely. With their guidance, we redirected our course to a nearby cave, where we would wait for the waters to calm.

Upon arrival, we discovered two small caves adorned with impressive stalagmites and stalactites, a testament to the ancient beauty hidden within the earth. However, it wasn't just the geological formations that caught our attention – the caves were also home to a thriving colony of bats.

As we cautiously stepped into the cave, we were greeted by the sight of bats clinging to the walls, their delicate wings folded close to their bodies. Some stirred at our intrusion, taking flight with a flurry of movement, while others remained still, observing us with curious eyes.

It was a surreal experience, witnessing these nocturnal creatures in their natural habitat, their presence adding an unexpected twist to our adventure. Despite the delay caused by the strong currents, the unexpected detour to the caves provided us with a fascinating glimpse into the wonders of the natural world.

After our enchanting encounter with the bats in the cave, the boat driver delivered welcome news: the current had weakened sufficiently for us to resume our journey upstream. Eager to continue our adventure, we boarded the bamboo boat once more, ready to explore further.

As we glided along the tranquil waters, our surroundings transformed into a landscape of surreal beauty. Towering red rocks rose from the water, their rugged forms creating a dramatic contrast against the serene backdrop. And there, in the foreground, stood a majestic mountain, its silhouette unmistakably shaped like a heart.

Nature's handiwork left us in awe as we marveled at the incredible sight before us. With cameras in hand, we paused to capture the moment, each snapshot immortalizing the breathtaking beauty of the heart-shaped mountain against the backdrop of crimson cliffs.

For about 30 minutes, we indulged in the joy of photography, savoring every angle and perspective of this natural wonder. It was a moment of pure magic, a testament to the boundless creativity of the natural world, and a memory we would treasure for a lifetime.

With a heavy heart, we declined the employee's offer to visit the suspension bridge and play in the water. Despite the allure of further adventure, our time was limited, and we had to make our way back to Phuket.
