The Christmas season is already among us with this small, dedicated and specially prepared space.

La época navideña ya está entre nosotros con esta pequeño espacio dedicado y tan especialmente preparado.

Cuando se acerca la época de Navidad la ciudad cambia, se transforma, las decoraciones son diferentes y en el ambiente se respira otro clima.
El viernes que viene será el espectáculo de encendido de luces tradicional de la ciudad de Málaga, que varias veces ha recibido premios por ser el mejor. Sí, realmente es una belleza y muy emocionante estar allí, presenciarlo y que la música haga palpitar el corazón de otra manera. La gente se ve diferente.
Pero previo a este acontecimiento tan importante en la ciudad y del que se deriva que tres veces al día se repita este evento, las decoraciones ya están instaladas en las calles esperando en silencio. Se encienden el mismo día del gran evento.
Una semana antes aproximadamente o tal vez un poco antes, en el muelle uno se acomodan los puestos del mercadillo que allí está cada día. El mismo se viste de navidad, colores verdes y rojos más la gran luminaria.

When Christmas time approaches, the city changes, transforms, the decorations are different and the atmosphere is different.

Next Friday will be the traditional light show of the city of Malaga, which has received several awards for being the best. Yes, it really is a beauty and very exciting to be there, to witness it and the music makes the heart beat in a different way. The people look different.

But prior to this very important event in the city, and from which the event is repeated three times a day, the decorations are already set up in the streets waiting in silence. They are lit on the day of the big event.

A week or so before, or perhaps a little before, the stalls of the daily flea market are set up on quay one. The market is dressed in Christmas colours of green and red, plus the big lights.

Este mercadillo es enorme y forma como una mini ciudad aparte. Se accede a él como de pequeñas callecitas que los mismos puestos forman. Es muy hermoso de ver es un recorrido y paseo clásico, no sólo de turistas sino de los residentes también.

The market is huge and forms a mini-city of its own. It can be accessed through small streets formed by the stalls themselves. It is very beautiful to see and it is a classic stroll, not only for tourists but also for the locals.

Pero no sólo eso, sino que esas callecitas confluyen en un centro muy grande que se prepara de acuerdo a cada importante festividad. Y en esta ocasión se convierte en un lugar mágico, no sólo para los niños sino también para los adultos.
Todos los años este gran centro se decora de diferente manera y en esta oportunidad forman un gran círculo delimitado por cercas blancas y donde se puede acceder por un portal de madera pintada de blanco con las clásicas decoraciones navideñas.

But not only that, but these little streets converge in a very large centre that is prepared according to each important festivity. And on this occasion it becomes a magical place, not only for children but also for adults.

Every year this big centre is decorated in a different way and this time it forms a big circle bounded by white fences and accessible through a wooden portal painted white with classic Christmas decorations.

Dentro de este gran círculo hay numerosos pinos enanos algunos totalmente verdes y otros nevados. Estos rodean una estructura que simula ser de cristal, y dentro hay una cantidad grande de personajes navideños.
Pude ver una gran chimenea con osos de varios tamaños, los clásicos calcetines para colocar los regalos. También hay un gran árbol decorado con muérdagos y hojas de pascuero, muy clásico aquí. Aparenta ser el interior de una casa, pero que a través del cristal podemos ver que ocurre dentro.
Le di la vuelta para saber que había en cada rincón de ese lugar y descubrí más y más osos, paquetes de regalo, juguetes como caballitos, pingüinos, alfombras. Todo invitaba a seguir mirando y brindaba calidez, como un hogar que festeja alegremente la navidad.
Un lugar donde toda la gente toma fotografías sobre todo a los niños, y las familias también.

Inside this large circle there are numerous dwarf pine trees, some of them completely green and others snow-covered. These surround a structure that appears to be made of glass, and inside are a large number of Christmas characters.

I could see a large fireplace with bears of various sizes, the classic stocking stuffers. There is also a large tree decorated with mistletoe and raisin leaves, very classic here. It looks like the inside of a house, but through the glass we can see what is going on inside.

I turned around to find out what was in every corner of the place and discovered more and more bears, gift packages, toys like horses, penguins, carpets. Everything was inviting and warm, like a home that joyfully celebrates Christmas.

A place where all the people take pictures, especially the children, and the families as well.

Por supuesto este centro está rodeado de innumerables puestos del mercadillo con diversidad de artículos. Desde ropa, artículos de cuero, decoraciones del hogar, juguetes, bolsos, cinturones, pañuelos, bufandas, gorros, abanicos y mucho más, para todos los gustos. También hay artículos artesanales, como pulseras, colgantes, anillos, platos pintados y esencias aromáticas.

Of course this centre is surrounded by countless flea market stalls with a variety of goods. From clothes, leather goods, home decorations, toys, bags, belts, scarves, hats, fans and much more, there is something for everyone. There are also handicraft items such as bracelets, pendants, rings, painted plates and aromatic essences.

Una de las cosas más hermosas es ver tantas luces y tanto color inundando esta zona, aún en la noche. Ya que los días son más cortos y a las 18 hs. ya prácticamente es de noche.

One of the most beautiful things is to see so many lights and so much colour flooding this area, even at night. The days are shorter and by 6 pm it is almost dark.

A su vez, este mercadillo tiene muy cerca varias cafeterías, algunas como locales grandes y otras como simples puestos frente al mar.

At the same time, this flea market has several cafés nearby, some as big shops and others as simple stalls in front of the sea.

Los alrededores me muestran a lo lejos los diversos negocios del muelle y la gente paseando.
Muy cerca se encuentra en Museo Popidou, con su gran cubo de colores.
Este es un gran paseo clásico de mucha gente, y esta caminata no sólo es una manera de hacer ejercicio o de relajar la mente, sino que el mercadillo ofrece un sinfín de posibilidades de ver cosas hermosas y comprar también, por supuesto. Yo siempre me inclino por las artesanías y decoraciones.

The surroundings show me in the distance the various shops on the quayside and the people strolling around.

Nearby is the Popidou Museum, with its large colourful cube.

This is a great classic walk for many people, and this walk is not only a way to exercise or relax the mind, but the flea market offers endless possibilities to see beautiful things and buy too, of course. I always go for handicrafts and decorations.

Las caminatas nocturnas se han convertido para mí como hago que me gusta mucho hacer y las disfruto mucho. Ya son parte de mi vida, cosa que antes no podía hacer.
Al despedirme de este lugar elegí el sendero del Palmeral de las sorpresas, donde está lleno de palmeras, canteros con arbustos y flores y también juegos para niños.
Disfrutar de una colorida, iluminada caminata acompañada de un delicioso y espumoso café es un detalle hermoso de la vida.

The night walks have become for me something I like to do and I enjoy them very much. They are already part of my life, which I could not do before.

When I said goodbye to this place I chose the Palmeral de las Sorpresas path, which is full of palm trees, flowerbeds with bushes and flowers and also playgrounds for children.

Enjoying a colourful, brightly lit walk accompanied by a delicious, frothy coffee is a beautiful detail of life.
