Celebrating women's month: seminar towards gender and development sensitivity training for organic stakeholders

Well, we celebrate women's month in order to give honor to women to acknowledge the achievements of women. Also to promote gender equality and advocate women empowerment recognizing their contribution to different
sectors. I was given the chance to join the seminar. Since one of our members of the cooperative has important errands to do, she told me that I can be her proxy. So I grabbed it. My mom was also invited to that seminar so it's probably nice.
We are told to arrive at City Hall at 7:00 am. So my mom woke me up. And I do the dishes first before taking a bath. After washing the dishes I took a bath and changed clothes. We eat breakfast before leaving. I also feed my niece. After all the necessary things to do we leave. Upon arriving at the City Hall we thought that they would wait for us for the last call. But we also wait for our last member to arrive. Afterwards we were all complete and we got into the provided vehicle.
The place of the seminar is at the Bayfront Hotel. Bayfront Hotel is located in the center of Cebu business and trade district in north reclamation area fronting Sm City Cebu.I was excited and thrilled since it would be the first time to be in that hotel. I've already visited different hotels but it is good to experience new ones. Upon arriving at the hotel. The location of the seminar would be on the second floor in their function hall.
As we walked in the lobby the organizer of the event greeted us. As we walked through the door I saw that there were already some people there. I think we're kind of late. Then we settle down. And the organizer says that we should take breakfast first before starting the lecture. And we eated.
Afterwards, we started the seminar with prayer. Then the speaker introduced herself to us. Then she introduced also the different cooperatives that is present there. And if your cooperative is called, every member should introduce themselves. When our cooperative was called I first introduced myself. I state my name and the cooperative I belong to.
After a while the speaker gave us some manila paper and markers. We will write there our expectations towards the speaker, participants and accomodations. Since I am the youngest among our cooperative I was tasked to write and report also what we gathered. I write and speak. I think they have all amazed me since I'm young. They are happy that my presence was there.
Then the seminar started at 9:45. And we have an assessment first in order to check if we have understanding towards sex and gender. I got 9/12 with that assessment. Then the speaker started to lecture the difference between sex and gender. Sex is your genitals that's what you have after your mom gives you birth while gender is what you feel inside you. The speaker also classified the different genders such as, lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer etc.
After a long listen and understanding. The Debates came along, some participants expressed their perspective and few argued but in a good way. After the debate the speaker decided that we should have our lunch since it's already 12: 25. They serve some delicacies and also desserts. We resume at 1: 20. We watched a video clip that is tilted the Impossible dream. The video shows a mother working hard for the family including waking up early, making breakfast, preparing the children to school, fixing herself to work, and serving the food.
At the end of the video the wife had a dream that is her husband helping her chores, taking care of the baby and giving her the time to make her dream which is to become a sewer or a person who makes clothes. Then the speaker provided an after question. She will pick some participants to share their thoughts and perspectives. In the first row the speaker chooses 2 people to answer. While in our row she chooses 3 that includes me and my mom.
The seminar went well. I have gained ideas about gender and development. And its branches. The experience was great and it teaches that you are not just women.
