HBD is a Decentralized Stablecoin offering significant 20% APR

I was reading a tweet published by @theycallmeDan HBD. HBD is a stablecoin that we earn at hive through our author reward and this reward is divided into two parts (HP+HBD). We get hive power and HBD (Hive Backed Dollars) as part of the author's reward. HBD is a stablecoin backed by USD for value and this is one of the coins that has proven its existence. This stablecoin has been paying a consistent APR of 20% with just 3 days lock-in period. We can park our hbd in savings and this starts paying 20% APR which is too good.

I don't think there is any option available out there that can pay us the return like this and that one is stablecoins where the value fluctuation will not happen. Some protocols might be paying even better APR, but we need to note that they will not pay on stablecoins. The good thing about stablecoin is that its value is not going to fluctuate which is like we are earning a significant APR without worrying about risk. If I talk about banks, then we earn approximately 8-10% per annum maximum but here with HBD, we earn much more and currently its 20%

This is the tweet that Dan has published, and he mentioned some of the essential parts of HBD. It is a decentralised stablecoin and it has a proven history. We know how some so-called stable coins lost value and got depeg badly. It's a very bad situation in the case of stablecoins because investors lose a lot of money just because of this value loss and this is why it is hard to trust any centralised stablecoins. Some of the coins like USDT and USDC are the leading stablecoins in the market and people rely on them, but you never know if something wrong happens and we might end up losing our money.

As far as I am aware then HBD is the only stablecoin that we can earn and I do not know if there is any platform rewarding in the form of stablecoin which is stable in terms of value. I have seen people sharing their experiences of making payments using hbd in some countries however this privilege is not available in my country but hope it happens in future. Its fun making the payment using the HBD coin that we earn and this can be used for making payments for goods and services. This coin is not listed on any centralised exchange but still, it is doing great because we have a decentralised bridge for the conversion.

I'm not sure how it is going to work but I think if this HBD gets an exchange listing then more people will get to know about it. If more people are buying HBD then I think it can be good for the hype as a whole because more money inflow will happen on the hive ecosystem.

There was some change on HBD APR last month but again its back to 20% as you can see in the snapshot above. There may be changes in future depending upon what witnesses agree on. HBD Interest Payments For February 2024

Until last year I had some balance in HBD but then I saw the low price for high when I converted all HBD to hive. It was good that time because I was able to get more hive coins and powered it up to grow my HP. Now I'm waiting for the time when I can convert some hive back to HBD and I'll be doing this once the price for hive is pretty good in the market. I anticipate that in this bull run cycle, $1 hive is easily possible and that would be the time when I will be converting some hive to HBD and keep that bag in savings to start earning 20% APR. I hope it happens soon and I look forward to that time when I execute this plan to have some stack in HBD savings.
