Hello, splinter-warriors. I hope you all are doing well today.
Today, I will be sharing with you guys a battle that I had no hope of winning. This is a battle where the battle rules are exposed, which most players are weak against. So, if you don't have the right monsters, you will lose every single time.
This is why you better put on your learning cap and enjoy the battle.
Battle Conditions
The mana cap is 40 and there are 5 summoners to choose from: Water, Nature, Life, Death, and Dragon. I went with Death Summoner even though Life would've been a better choice because Life Summoner would've given me a buff on the ranged attack.
Battle Rules:-
Going the distance: Only monsters with ranged attacks may be used in battle.
Battle Details
Let's start from my side:
Summoner: Octavia Shadowmeld(Ability: Decrease in Hp by 1 and gives the ability to use a gladiator card)
Tank: Venari Marksrat(Ability: Martyr).
Ranged Attackers: Queen of Crows(Ability: Close Range), Ravenhood Warden(Ability: Protect), Dhampir Stalker(Ability: True Strike), Liza Fox(Ability: Bloodlust), Drybone Bowdog(Ability: Scattershot, Ambush).
My strategy was to get my Queen of Crows to get the martyr effect and have the highest possible HP, that way the monsters in the back would get a higher chance to attack from the back. I used Octavia instead of Thaddius Brood because I wanted to use Liza Fox's ability and use up all of my mana. I kept Drybone in the back as I expected him to have a monster that would attack me from the back. I used Dhampir Stalker as a way to ensure damage of 3 would be there if my other monsters fail to hit their mark.
The overall attack per round is 11. After the martyr effect, it increases to 12. If the bloodlust is triggered, the damage increases by 1 per round.
Now, for the opposition's turn:
Summoner: Ilthain(Ability: Increase in speed by 1 and grants the fire and regret ability for all ally monsters).
Tank: Venari Marksrat(Ability: Martyr).
Magic Attacker: Anachron Bolter(Ability: Headwinds).
Ranged Attacker: War Pegasus(Ability: Flying, Shatter), Venari Crystalsmith(Ability: Tank heal), Gobson Bomber(Ability: Recharge, Camouflage), Pelacor Arbalest(Ability: Double Strike).
His strategy was to make use of his Arbalest to the max. That's why he kept it at the back of his deck. he also used Marksrat so that his Anachron gets the max HP and has his overall damage even out. He used Crystalsmith in the middle of the deck as he wanted his tank to heal mid-game. his Gobson Bomber was a format attacker, he kept it as a rain check to induce damage to my tank should the other attackers slack in damage.
His overall damage is 9 for every odd number of turns. In the even number of turns, the damage soars to 15 damage per round as Gobson suffers from the *recharge
Major Events
The first monster to die was my Marksrat and hence Queen gets a buff within the first round. Thus, my overall damage increases by 1.
His Marksrat dies and levels out his overall damage.
His new tank also gets taken out by Liza and the bloodlust is triggered thus my overall damage increases by 1.
And finally, his Gobson bomber claps my Queen and evens the odds. Therefore, my overall damage decreases by 4. Yet, I had the overall higher damage per round than him.
And before the end of the second round, Dhampir Stalker takes out his ace, the only flying unit with high speed that had a huge chance of making my monsters miss their attacks.
Liza Fox shoots first and gets her 3rd kill of the day and triggers her bloodlust once again. That way, she regains her shield that she loses due to the fire and regret and hence my overall damage increase once again.
Gobson deletes his Arbalest thanks to the scattershot and finally my Stalker puts his down his only disarmed warrior.
Results
This, with only 2 losses, with both of them planned, I got the victory I didn’t know I’d win. Usually, there are always monsters that way opponent would have that would have multiple types of attack and I know instantly that I had lost the battle. This time however, I made it. Maybe it’s because of the low level but even in this low level, I’ve encountered high level monsters with pro-players that stay low because they can farm more. I just want to enjoy the game and climb this ranks. So, I hope you enjoyed the battle too!
