Hello Friends! 🔆 Welcome to another Wednesday Walk!

Here is my Walking-Wednesday for 11 June 2025

As we already slid into the middle of the week, let's take a moment to reflect on last Wednesday, June 11, 2025.

It is already another week sliding us to the climax of the week... Personally I realise that as the week advance my lunch is going difficult to do every day comparing to Monday, as it is planned on a mmore or less relax Sunday. Anyway, that idea would be good for another post. My lunch for Wednesday was some food still letf from Tuesday, then I saved my time to cook.

Wednesday morning began cloudy; this time clouds were announcing a rain later during the day.

As we could see later, we got some rain.

During morning walking I saw a laundry machine in the street looking good. I didn't know what the note said, it was in Chinese 😅 .

What came to my mind as a possible message was:

Take for free, in a good shape. I didn't bother to translate it.

And then, it was a day encountering some books. When I have the opportunity I went to the school library and take some books calling my attention.
This time a couple of books I took a look were about teaching and Creativity.

The language teacher toolkit

One of the passages that caught my eye was about using technology for teaching, and particularly a chapter about using Blogging to teach a foreign language. They mentioned an experience with Secondary students making a blogging activity a part of their learning process. This idea sound interesting.

Another interesting thing is how the authors are developing their own Principles of teaching, which sounds as accurate to their results and can give ideas to anyone working on the teaching area.

The ideas I would like underline here are about acquisition of Language:

"Comprehension of meaningful language is the foundation of language acquisition.”

"Lots of opportunities to practice."

And this one very importante

"Promote independent learning outside the classroom."

And one more I would retake:

"use the language promptly in real situations."

There are more ideas flouting but as a short mention to highligh the importance to create an ambiance of Language Acquisition, these are some key ideas reflected on their principles.

Another book calling my attention about History Smart, which gives ideas on how to use the science of story to on writing.

A key idea from here I try to retake every morning is Use your Banks, Put your Banks to work, which encourage me to take old projects about poems and about a book-project that never arrives to become real. That experiences already organised are a plus to share and, why not? to retake as possible projects to finish.

In addition to some reading, I advanced on doing my capture of Pictures from a Pictionary which I am using for my Daily word in Spanish serie. Curiously I bough that book in a Second Hand Book store on 2015, when I arrived to Hong Kong and was still with much interest to learn Chinese. Well, through the time, charts, cryptos, blogging, blochchain and investment learning were taking more and more time in addition to my usual teaching activities...
Well, the Pictionary looks good in terms of material and is practical as it has words with English and Chinese, now I am adding the Spanish word and translation the Sentence-example.
Here I share only the Pictionary and some example of the words.
