Squeezing in an Opera + A Power 🆙

What an insane week! But we got through it, just!
This morning while I was out and about in the City Centre, I heard that it was opening night for Marriage of Figaro. So I popped in over to the Opera North ticket office and lucked into a returned single ticket — an aisle seat in the Stalls, my fave!
The photo above is as you’d enter the private bar at the Leeds Grand Theatre. As a singleton, I always book it. The reservation is paid and comes with prosecco 🍾 and ice cream from Northern Bloc. Ah hem...orange and dark chocolate! 😋

Despite being overscheduled, I decided to dress up, do my hair and makeup, and take a “comfort” Uber to the Opera. I don't regret it. The driver knew the way to be able to approach the front of the building to let me out glamorously. I arrived well turned out! 💃

One of the things I love most about Leeds is the performing arts scene. No matter the production, there is always a rebellious twist to it — it’s a trade mark of Yorkshire!

The Leeds Grand Theatre was opened in 1878 and the colours of the famous opera house remain true, steeped in the æsthetic suited to Late Victorian, Scottish-influenced Baroque and Classical Architecture.
I felt as though my dress looked as though a set designer had chosen it for this staircase scene.

This is a placard right outside the Bar 1878. I love detail of the image is cited "courtesy of iStock." Maybe the graphic designer was a Hivian?
I enjoyed bringing you to the Opera with me. Thanks for coming!
I'll sign off with my 30 HIVE Powered Up for 30 January.
Much love! 🥰
