Do You Feel Lucky?

Whenever I search around Splinterlands, I am learning something new almost every day. When I heard about the new Jackpot cards in Frontier, I felt both excited and curious. Mostly because I only play Frontier right now but the term "jackpot" also feels special and exciting. It doesn't really change the battles in Frontier yet, but I can see it shaping more in the future once players uses these new rewards.

What I like most is that these Jackpot cards can only be found in daily rewards which increases its value. You only get a chance to find them when you claim your daily Frontier rewards. That idea alone made me want to play more matches. It feels like every day now has a small surprise waiting.

What Makes Frontier Jackpot Cards Feel Special
The new Frontier Jackpot cards feel different from normal rewards. There are four new cards, one from each rarity tier and they only appear in Frontier daily chests. You cannot get them from packs or other reward chests. That means you have a maximum of 3 times per day, one every 5 wins, which makes this very special.

As a new player, I really like that Frontier is free to play. I do not feel forced to spend just to take part. This also makes me learn the game more without too much risk. Every win now feels more important because there is always a small chance something special can happen.
Another thing I like is that these Jackpot cards are bonuses. They do not replace the rewards we already get. That means nothing is taken away from players and more chances of winning. When you hit a Jackpot, it feels like a true reward for your effort. This also makes you feel lucky as these cards are very limited and only a selected few can get it.
For someone still learning the game, this feels friendly and fair. I do not feel left behind for being new. I feel included just by playing. That feeling matters a lot to me since I feel bad when I tried Modern Format with all these amazing cards others can use and I can't.
Can I get that?
The Jackpot variants also caught my attention. These cards can come in very rare versions like Gold Foil, Black Foil and even Arcane versions. Based on my understanding, these are higher leveled cards attached with bonuses when you win. Arcane also has Gold Arcane and Black Arcane which gives double the rewards than normal cards.
The most exciting part is the one-of-one Legendary Black Foil Arcane Eris Bimblenok. There is only one in existence. Once it is found, it will never appear again. As a new player, that idea feels almost unreal. It's like those pokemon cards that was printed very limited and now costs like more than a million dollar each. It's a real bragging right whoever can get that one.
I know the chances are very low for the jackpot card to appear. Every time I claim a daily reward, there is a 1.5% chance to get a Jackpot card. That number may be small, but it is not zero. Since you can get up to three pulls per day, it will be interesting if I can get one in the future.
The Jackpot Card I Hope to Pull First
If I had to choose one Jackpot card I want the most, it would be the White Chickadee. It is the Epic unit, and honestly, it is not even a strong card. At max level, it has 3 health and 2 speed, with no attack and no armor.
It has Flying and Tank Heal which sounds useful but it also has Untrainable. That means I cannot give it attack using Weapons Training. Because of that, it is probably a bad card overall. Many players would skip it without thinking twice.
But I still want it. I want it because it looks just like a normal bird. It's actually just as simple as that. There's no special meaning about it. It's a cute unit and I want it because it's cute. As a new player, I am not chasing power yet. I am chasing for things that make me smile and makes me want to play this game more.
Pulling White Chickadee would feel personal to me. It would remind me that not everything in this game is about winning, strength and power. Some things are about enjoying the journey. And for me, that little bird represents that feeling.
