Daily Grind #62: Experimenting decks, again
2 comments
Greetings!
Welcome to the weekly edition of my "Daily Grind" series of blogs. In the past few days, I was not able to get my expectations on my regular deck that competes well in Midnight Shadow and is capable of breaching Auric Gold. I also noticed that some of the decks I battled were able to draw better cards ahead of me. I was also able to draw good cards but it was after my opponent drew a good card which in turn made my good drawing of cards useless.
With that being said, I tried to experiment with decks once again. Until I was satisfied with the card combination I did not stopped in changing cards. While experimenting I jumped up and down between Midnight Shadow and Twilight Shadow and as a result, I was only able to record four victories in ten matches.
Featured Match
In this featured match I am up against a Control War. Luckily for me, I was able to buff my 1/4 Marshwalker up to the point that my opponent was unable to kill it.
God Power: Animal Bond
Aside from experimenting on cards I also experimented on what God Power to use. In my old deck, I usually use Flourish against all War decks. But in this matchup, I experimented with using Animal Bond.
Mulligan
Against any war deck, I am always looking for my relic removal card which is Iron-tooth Goblin and I tried to mulligan one of my win condition cards which is Guerilla Training and Moonlight Charm.
1 Mana
I was not able to record the first turn on this match. I played Marshwalker on my first turn, my opponent did not play any card on his first turn.
2 Mana
I buffed my Marshwalker with Guerilla Training. Against War, I usually look for my Marshwalker and buff it with either Guerilla Training or Moonlight Charm. I went face. My opponent played Call to Arms, a card that buffs all War creatures contained in the deck.
3 Mana
I played Vanguard Axewoman and I used my God Power, I went face with Marshwalker. My opponent played Tamed Mammoth, a card that can grow big if not killed immediately.
4 Mana
I killed Tamed Mammoth with Lightning Strike. I went face. My opponent played Tamed Mammoth.
5 Mana
I killed Tamed Mammoth using Confused Badger and Marshwalker. I played Faeflame Blade. I went face with Vanguard Axewoman. My opponent played White Fur Guard.
5.1 Mana
I was able to White Fur Guard which left me with Marshwalker and Vanguard Axewoman. I got Ambitious Adventurer from the Sanctum. I went face with Vanguard Axewoman, Marshwalker, and Faeflame Blade. My opponent conceded and it was GG.
