Phishing is a widespread threat posed by hackers to all online users, with the goal of stealing your money or valuable asset. I chose this topic for today's post to raise awareness among #hive users about the importance of securing their funds. It should be reminded that any online activity carries the potential of phishing, which must be treated carefully.

Phishing takes several forms, including messages sent via email, regular messages, URL links, and websites. The attacker often sends over these medium in a way that appears legitimate, and you don't go for doubt anyhow. They will also ask you for personal information and any other information and convince in a way that is beneficial to you.

Don't ever put your trust in those who give you different benefits such as rewarding you with HBD, HIVE, or any other token by simply clicking on a link or creating an account on XYZ website, and they have many other scams. They present themselves in such a way that you will believe them, but they are phishing and will obtain your personal information.

These are the definitions of Phishing and the methods through which an attacker can attack you. The question now is how to protect against these possible threats. To begin, keep in mind that you should never ever click on any suspicious or beneficial link. This is the first and only action that will keep you safe from this attack.

TIPS TO PREVENT PHISHING ATTACKS AND PROTECT YOUR IDENTITY ON HIVE PLATFORM

  • Be careful of any unexpected email or communication that requests your personal information; this is suspect unless and unless the source is confirmed as real.

  • Clicking on weird URLs is one way for attackers to take your money or identity. Always double-check the URL link to ensure that it corresponds to the correct organisation.

  • Use anti-virus or malware software that alerts you to potentially harmful messages or links. To avoid phishing attempts, keep your software up to date at all times.
  • Keep your system software up to date; auto updates are advised. If this is not possible, check for updates once a week to ensure that your system is up to date.
  • Educate yourself on the new phishing strategies and patterns that attackers use. Always be aware of the strategies they employ against users.

These are the most common methods for avoiding phishing attacks. We must all follow these steps and understand how to protect our identities from these hackers. This will save your hard-earned money as well as your identity. I've seen many examples where people's accounts have been hacked, and the main causes for this are these attacks.

Hive is the only site where recovering an account is extremely tough. Some communities believe that recovery is possible and that they will succeed. However, it is important to remember that recovery is very difficult in this ecosystems. As a result, it is preferable to take security measures before your account is hacked.

We have a popular saying: "Maintain your own asset protection and never blame your neighbours for stolen valuables." It is preferable to take precautionary measures to safeguard your identity and cash. By following these guidelines, you may help protect yourself against phishing attacks and keep your personal information safe.
